30 Days of Thanks! 2014 list --- I have to knock it out in one post! So, here is what Im Thankful For 1. A God who tells me to simply accept His perfect gift for salvation and to love. Who told us we can never be good enough or do enough to earn it, but that his Son was and is. Yep. Its that simple. And Im beyond thankful. 2. Pizza, Bacon, Dark Chocolate & Mexican food. In no particular order. And sometimes all at the same time. :D 3. Maps! I love to chart a path and plan to where Im going on an atlas --- not on an app. Thanks for that skill, daddy. 4. My kids. They have the greatest sense of humor and have been my joy since their very first breath. 5. Snopes (people can and should check before posting or sharing every crazy story or rumor on Facebook) ;) 6. I am thankful Obama only has 805 days left in office!! 7. Peace in the Middle East. Ooooops --- my bad. Spoke too soon. ;) 8. A job with benefits. 9. Friends. 10. Friends with benefits! ;) 11. Laughter. Theres nothing like it! Contagious and uncontrollable grandkid giggles & genuine laughs with your best friends. No matter who you are or where youre from ---everyone laughs in the same language. 12. That crocs went out of style. 13. Groupons! And all the discount/savings sites that allow me to save half price on eating out and travel. Live BIG by working hard but spending thrifty! 14. For 2 amazing parents who check on me every single day, are my biggest supporters and arent offended when I fall asleep on their couch during the middle of a visit. 15. Dimmer Switches. They hide less than perfectly shaved legs in the bedroom. 16. I am thankful for grand-babies that want me to lay down with them at bedtime, because I know one day that will stop. Im going to say, yes, every time Im asked. 17. Pedicures. 18. For having 2 acres out in the country that offers a peaceful sanctuary away from it all with the prettiest mountain and star filled sky youve ever seen. 19. Recycling, Yard Sale finds & Thrift Stores. Your trash really IS my treasure (or for using in artsy project!!) 20. Traveling. If you never travel, youve only read one page of an exciting book. Do it while your health allows you. One day youll wish you had. Be well read and well traveled :) 21. Cheese. Cheddar, Swiss, Mozzarella --- basically any kind that melts over other food is a gooey blanket of happiness. 22. Photographs. No other form of time travel exists. A picture captures memories. I can look at a photo of my sweet granny and still remember her scent and the smell of her home. Snap away. Youll never regret it. 23. Landfills. Because everyday life is stinky. Diapers, garbage, old stanky food --- It needs a place to go. And the further away it goes from my nose, the better. 24. The realization that life offers you 2 choices: To make your own destiny or choose to be a victim. Always pick the first one ;) 25. Victoria Secret Push-up Bras and teeth whitening strips! Because the effects of time and gravity just sucks. Its my honest opinion that the inventor of underwire deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. 26. Cops, firemen, doctors & nurses. Yall do things most dont have the heart or courage to. I honestly THANK YOU for that. (All except the doling out speeding tickets to good, working folks on their way to work. Yall work on that part, please) ;) 27. Naps. Call those glorious siestas whatever you want. I love SLEEP!!! And I dont want to sleep like a baby --- I want to sleep like a teenager on summer break. 28, Makeup! Seriously, without eyeliner and lipliner, I look like I have a bad case of the flu. 29. Off Bug Spray & Raid! - I recognize that God created all living things, but they do not belong inside with me. If they wind up there, they will experience a chemical destruction akin to napalm (after high pitch shrieking!) 30. Hormone patches. They have saved many a woman. And ... by proxy, many a mans life. ;) Beyond the 30 on that list, Im most thankful for the man who stands beside me in any and all ways. Who holds my hand and holds my heart ----- (and also builds & assembles all the crazy stuff I dream up without ever complaining ). He is my heart. He is my mirror. Joseph Troy Elkinss Im also. thankful for making it to 50 ... in 20 more days anyway ;) And Im thankful for YOU! ... my friends on FB who keep me entertained and smiling daily
