3029 Bowie LN Huntingtown, MD 20639 301.518.2090 president@redknightsmc AN OPEN LETTER TO THE MEMBERSHIP Hello to all Red Knights, 7/26/2014 To all those who made the trip to Prince Edward Island last week, it is safe to say we all had an incredibly GREAT time! Huge thanks goes to all the members who had a part in hosting us for convention 2014. Shortly after the Annual Business Meeting, The Board met to discuss a couple of items, and the International Treasurer, Leo advised the Board that he is tendering his resignation as of August 31 , 2014. The Board then entered a closed session to discuss the personnel matters at hand. Per By-Law 3.05, the outcome of that meeting was to appoint Scott Ryan as the International Treasurer effective September 1 st , 2014. The Board further discussed the appointment for the opening of the Region 2 Director position effective the same date. Although the board did have the right and ability to appoint a region 2 replacement at that time, the board decided it would be in the best interest of all members to allow those qualified and interested members to make themselves known. All region 2 members will be notified about the vacancy directly with instructions on how to have those interested apply to be considered for the appointment of the remainder of the Region 2 term. We all owe a lot to Leo as he steps down from the Treasurers position. Leo has served on the International Board in various positions for over 20 years. Leo has been an important voice to me for the 3 plus years I have been an officer. We welcome Scott to the position of International Treasurer; his professional career has taken him to hold his current position as the Manager of Finance for Charlottetown, the Capitol to the Province of PEI.
