35 minutes of madness. Zombie Run Barnsley - October 2014 had fewer obstacles than I was expecting, but far more Zombies that I expected too. I need to get over being so competitive and feeling upset I lost my last life tag a bit more than halfway round and just remember the thrill of Zombie dodging. One of the worst bits was plunging into the river to avoid the Zombie blocking the narrow bridge, only to find there were two Zombies IN THE BLOODY RIVER! I had hoped and planned to at least jog all the way round but every sprint to avoid a clump of Zombies reduced me to a panting, gasping wreck and as soon as I was satisfied the buggers were not going to run after me (as some did) I would reduce to a walk. There were only a few brief sections where you could do this though as in many places there was a shambling brain~eating creature every few yards, and in one spot a whole family of them. I feel annoyed (in an ultra~competitive way) that having lost all my tags I did not manage to get any antidote, as despite being tagless I covered the last 400 yards in a mad scramble of mud and frantic bodyswerves through the shambling hordes. I am looking forward to the next one. Maybe I will survive.
