36 years ago today, I was anxiously getting ready for our rehearsal dinner when I received a phone call from Bruce Miller. Bruce told me that Marty had been in a mining accident and was at the hospital. Bruce has always liked to tease me, but I didnt find his joke very funny. It took me a minute to realize he was telling me the truth. I rushed to Charleston Memorial Hospital where I found Marty bruised and banged, with a huge cast on his right arm, he had broken his right arm. He kept telling the doctors that he had a rehearsal dinner he had to get too. Doctors released him just in time for us to get to our rehearsal dinner. The next day, we celebrated Thanksgiving with our families. Then the following day, we were married. Marty was off work the first three months of our marriage. Talk about a challenge..... I guess thats where the for better or worse comes in. He continues to keep our life interesting. Best decision I ever made in my life, was agreeing to spend the rest of my life with him. :-)
