39 years ago Today... November 10th, 1975... the Great Lakes ore carrier Edmund Fitzgerald was lost with all hands. Despite the findings of the NTSB, and various dives on the wreck, the cause of her wreck still remains debated to this day. There have been many videos posted to YouTube (and probably other sites) for the Gordon Lightfoot song, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. The one Im posting here I feel is one of the best. It combines the song with news coverage of the sinking, assorted videos and photos of the ship and various crew members, radio traffic during the initial reports of the Fitz missing and even footage from the dive some years ago to reclaim the ships bell (now on display at the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point, MI) and em place a replica bell with the crew members names inscribed.
