3PM UPDATE: A slight risk for severe thunderstorms is possible in northern Kansas today, but isolated severe thunderstorms cant be ruled out anywhere in Eastern or Central Kansas this afternoon. Modest instability is in place and the CAP that is in place should break this afternoon to allow for these thunderstorms to develop. The one hindering factor is that cloud cover is still in place over central Kansas. This could limit the severe potential. As the evening comes about there may be more of a line of thunderstorms capable of large hail and damaging winds. - Eric
