3rd Winter School in El Gouna - Sustainable Use of Resources – Water and Energy for Egypt The IWaTec consortium in cooperation with TU Berlin Campus El Gouna will organize the third winter school on Sustainable Use of Resources: Water and Energy for Egypt from February 21st till March 1st, 2015. The main objective of the school is to bring together scientists, experts, and students from Germany and Egypt for scientific and knowledge exchange about water and energy technologies important for Egypt. About 20 well-known experts from Germany and Egypt will give lectures and presentations on topics such as membrane technologies, solar driven desalination, sustainable water management, microbiology in drinking water, ecology and human health, solar cell technology and wastewater treatment. Excursions to waste water treatment plants, desalination plants as well as an boat excursion on coastal ecology will enlighten the lessons learned from the lectures. The invited speakers will report on the latest scientific results and cutting edge technologies. The participants of the winter school will also have the opportunity to present their own research results and/or interested topics in form of poster presentations. The Winter school is free of charge. Only travel and accommodation have to be organized by the selected participants themselves. 18 scholarships are available for the best applicants who would like to present a poster.
