4-1-14 Busy day for both Bearpaw Galindo and myself. Last night - TopicsExpress

4-1-14 Busy day for both Bearpaw Galindo and myself. Last night was a good night sleep for both of us. Woke up early 4 am. Started feeding animals then got Bearpaw up for Breakfast, pills and Bandage change, bath etc. Everything went smoothly. Packed the car for a long day in town and off to Dr Mandel. He removed the bandaged from his graft. Then his hand and arm. So far so good. The fingers are still not totally taken but the rest has taken well. We discussed the medication. He said this is going to be a long recover time and the pain meds are a must. He was very very empathetic to Bearpaws pain and PTSD and understood the problems we was having with the Morphine. He hesitated on giving direction on what the pain specialist ordered but agreed Methadone was not the answer. He directed us to go to our primary doctor. We then left and had lunch. Ran into Dave G Noll and Gwenith Shaw. (Great to see u 2, come visit us soon) She is the one that came and sat with me threw his last surgery. Then off to our primary Doctor. It was suppose to be for me but they squeezed Bearpaw in with me and Im so grateful they did. She has been following everything the doctors have been doing beings she is our primary. She looked at pictures of the progress and questioned Bearpaw. Broke out her pin and started writing. He will go one the fentenyl patches and Hydros for the break threw pain. Also on the Diazepan for sleep. The Fentenyl has to get approved so we will wait the time for it to get here. Got to love HMOs. In the mean time he has meds to comfort him till then. As soon as we have all the meds on board he will start PT. Dr Mandel said thats when the pain will really kick in UGGG More pain but PT is needed. Bearpaw has little energy. He has lost so much weight. The pain has him consumed. So off to the pharmacy then home. As soon as we got home we put in the DVD we got in the mail from Our Son and Daughter in law, Sunflower Dallas-Galindo and Robert Galindo Jr of all the Grandkids. Wow this brightened our day . TY, Love you all :) Grabbed some dinner and check into the net then feed and got the goats in their night shed and inside to bandage changes meds and put Bearpaw to bed for rest. Tomorrow is Dozers day. He has to go see the surgeon for pre-op Then surgery Thursday. He has been limping like crazy poor little guy. So our day was busy. God keeps putting amputees our way. I guess its like buying a car. After you get it you see your car everywhere. Sick way to put it Sorry nothing intended. From the armless man in Walmart that walked up to us 2 times but said nothing to Bearpaw they just met eye to eye and his wife smiled at me, to the man in Dr office without a leg that smiled at Bearpaw and said it will be OK and kept walking proudly with his prosthetic leg. This brought Bearpaw to tears every time. Acceptance is coming just not yet. God is good and everything has been written already. We are going thru motions but I see healing along the way. I bought a dream book for Bearpaw. His dreams have been worse then horrible. When he wakes in fear, I read them to him to give him some relief. Amazing enough the dreams are of his loss and helplessness of his accident. This seems to help him cope and understand he will be OK.. So today was an all around good day. Blessings everywhere. Hard times but good people along the way and we push forward. TY for everyone that keeps praying for us. We feel them, see them and most of all they help so much. TY TY TY
