4/20/14 Farm Report: Remember when everybody had CB radios and would drive around on the weekends good buddyin. It was a craze in our area in the early to mid 70s. Sometimes I would just either find a place to park late at night and listen or sit in my car in the driveway. Everybody would have all these different handles (names) . There was one guy around the Northside that was an auctioneer and everything he said would rhyme and was a bit musical. I can remember once when someone was trying to put him down then suddenly it was ON. This auctioneer was being a good sport for a while until the other guy ,getting jealous, started getting out of hand and the auctioneer PUT IT ON HIM...... The other guy just went silent not to be heard of again. If the atmosphere was just right you could talk skip. The signal would bounce around the air until it was received by someone far away. I once talked to Puerto Rico. Truckers would be glad to talk to you because it helped them stay awake. I dont know what made me thing of this but there you have it,,, now you can think about it too. 10- eggs The Farmisist
