4-27-2014 The following post is from the Bonus Race Finals (BRF) face book page: It references the confirmed case that we posted yesterday and another case that was euthanized and tests are pending. The Bonus Race Finals was a large barrel event held in Lincoln Nebraska April 10-13. The confirmed case was from Lafayette County WI It has come to our attention that a horse that was at the Bonus Race Finals in Lincoln NE has tested positive for EHV-1 (see veterinary info below). I have been in contact with the owner (we are so very sorry for your loss). It is her wish for us to share this information so that others may be aware and monitor their horses temperatures/symptoms. At this time, I do not know of any other confirmed cases, however I have been in touch with another contestant whose horse was also put down last week (causes unknown) and test results will be known by Tuesday am. The horse which was put down was stalled in the alley in pav 2 near the bathrooms on the side where you walked in from Pav 3 warm up to Pav 2. I will update on this post with any new information I learn of. (The confirmed case horse had not been anywhere since the BRF).
