An Appeal: Floods and landslides in J&K Save Jammu and Kashmir (In co-ordination with PIPFPD’s Kashmir Floods Relief and Rehabilitation Initiative) The scale of devastation in Jammu and Kashmir due to massive floods, flash floods and landslides is a cause of concern. The impact is worst in Srinagar city, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir where lakhs of people have been rendered homeless and are deprived of basic necessities. The medical services have been badly hit and the threat of serious epidemics looms. The plight of the poor villagers cut off due to landslides and floods in Jammu region also needs great attention. It may take a long time for many fellow citizens of this state to sustain. In view of the enormity of the situation, we have initiated an effort to help in the relief and rehabilitation work so that the flood survivors can begin resuming their normal lives. We are working in tandem with other groups at the national level, in the state and with volunteers working on the ground in the affected areas.
