4 more sleeps till i set off on my adventure!.. I am seeing if anybody would kindly like to sponsor me for my epic challenge that I’m taking part in, and I leave in 4 DAYS!!!!! On the 4 October I will be travelling to Nepal with a group of lovely liked minded (mad) people to tackle and concur Everest Base Camp – The trek will see us trekking for 12 consecutive days and will travel about 90 miles in total and to a height of 17,575ft!!!!!!!!.... also for those of us with enough energy, we then push on to summit Kala Patthar (18,200 ft!). This is indeed going to be one hell of a challenge and I’ve had to train long & hard for it.. but this is nothing compared to the hardship and suffering that the young people have to go through who are helped by the wonderful charity I am supporting – The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) caft.co.uk The farm is a haven for these children and offer much needed respite & time away from their daily troubles. The needs of the children visiting The Adventure Farm range from complex and severe physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairments and terminal illnesses through to children who act as Carers for a family member, those dealing with bereavement and children who have been victims of abuse. Each child is treated as an individual with their own strengths, likes and dislikes, disability is never seen as a barrier to participation.
