I love my kids, but when the girl decides she wants to start her volunteer hours for school this weekend at the childrens festival, I am concerned that she doesnt too much want to see her next birthday....I google directions to said place... (she has to be at Bagby and Lamar for check-in)... so we are in the car. We are driving.47c exit is closed. WHAT??!!?, my only exit is closed, I begin to freak all the way out.... somehow we wind up on 59, by this time, nikki finally figured out the gps thing and we get to bagby street.... HOWEVER, it is partitioned off due to the festival... (more freaking out, probably had a mild stroke), so im like screw it...I stop traffic, get out of the car and go to the police man. He can see im flustered, so he tells me to get into the car, and he escorts nikki to wherever,....That was the drop off. The pick-up.........she calls and said she is done.... I say ok, where do I pick you up at... 20 minutes later, she says the best place is the doubletree hotel on W. Dallas. As im following the direction that are on my phone, the damn thing dies. Yes. dead... Im now downtown, phone dead, lost as only lost can be, trying not to kill the boy, looking for my charger. By the time I find it, im now at a red light. The street is West dallas. !! woo hoo, im on the right road, but I didnt know which way to go, so until the phone could turn back on, the light changed and I went straight... into a parking lot of some kind, where all this traffic was leaving.....25 minutes later, I finally get to turn on the damn west dallas street and do you know that the girl child was maybe 200 feet away from me the whole time??? I then proceeded to tell both of them that should they ever decide to live downtown in any city in the world, I would never not one time ever visit them.... Im entirely not ok driving downtown with directions that are broken! This all being said, should anyone want to go to the childrens festival today, by 3... I wanna go too, but YOU DRIVE...
