4 year old Brooklyn is at the Manhattan shelter for one more night. Tomorrow at noon the plan on euthanizing her. Please help save Brooklyn tonight before it is to late..... A volunteer writes: Brooklyn was owned by the same family (counting a small child and 3 cats) all her life. We are told that she is a wonderful friend and companion, is very playful, cuddly and a big mush….She would love snow, is house trained, plays well with dogs and is a good walker. Still, Brooklyn was surrendered into our care as she had become increasingly uncomfortable around the little girl in the house and one particular frequent visitor. Brooklyn is indeed a sweet young female. She has been well cared for, is healthy looking and the perfect weight. She is a wary here at the care center but likes and seeks comfort in her caretaker. She needs a slow approach, a gentle touch and mostly to find herself again in a home environment. She walks nicely on the leash and eliminates after a while. Brooklyn, true to her breed, loves treats and she will sit and even lay down, before I even order her to, when she sees roast beef in my hand. She even gives me a little dance. Absolutely adorable. She will sit of course on command and accepts caresses. I see then the softest look in her eyes. We do not know what could have led to her uneasiness around certain people, even known to her. Brooklyn should be adopted only by experienced adopter. Brooklyn is very dear and in the right hands as well as in the proper settings, could bloom into a great forever best friend. She is waiting at the Manhattan Care Center for her new family and teacher.
