46 years ago today, The Grass Roots Midnight Confessions entered the Billboard Pop chart where it later peaked at #5, becoming their most successful record. The performers included bassist-vocalist Rob Grill, guitarists Creed Bratton and Warren Entner, drummer Rick Coonce, and various members of the group of L.A. studio-musicians known as the Wrecking Crew, including Carol Kaye playing the opening bass-line. (As a side note, Bratton went on to have a successful acting career on TVs The Office.)
