5 stars destined for The Premier League Burak Yilmaz – Galatasaray The way Jose Mourinho has so far handled his transfers and team selections it is clear that Chelsea mean business and will not be content with anything less than titles this season. Where most managers would be content with the players Mourinho has at his disposal, we know that the happy one will be looking at how he can strengthen and which players are mere passengers, in what looks set to be one of the most open Premier League challenges since its inception. Do not be surprised if Chelsea are busy in the January transfer window. One of the many names rumoured to make a switch to Stamford Bridge is striker Burak Yilmaz. Turkish international and Galatasaray star Yilmaz (28) has netted 26 goals in 35 games for Turkish giants and finished top goalscorer of the Champions League group stages last season with 6 goals in 504 minutes of football. It will be interesting to see how this could pan out for Chelsea, as an exit may be imminent for Demba Ba if they are to bring Yilmaz in. However, with at least three high profile strikers all fighting for one position, playing time would not be guaranteed and Chelsea may cause unrest up top. Fabio Coentrao – Real Madrid One position that Tottenham failed to improve on this year was their left-back slot. Enter Fabio Coentrao – the 25 year old wing back who has fallen behind Marcelo in the pecking order at Real Madrid. However, having had a decent amount of playing time for Real Madrid in the last two years, Coentrao has gained great experience. This player looks energetic, uses the ball very well, gets up and down the pitch, is great going forward and definitely gets stuck in. This could be a great buy for Tottenham if they are to seriously contend the title. Kurt Zouma – St Etienne This 18 year old centre-back is a hot property for French side St Etienne. Although still very young, he has proven that he not only has a great ability to defend, but also has a good level of maturity. The first manager that comes to mind is Arsene Wenger. In regards to youth development, Arsene Wenger is the master, especially to the French. Wesley Sneijder – Galatasray Another area that Chelsea may look to strengthen in January is in the midfield. With Marco van Ginkel out for the remainder of the season and the legendary Frank Lampard ageing playmaker Sneijder could be the perfect solution for the short-term and medium-term at Stamford Bridge. Having worked under Mourinho for Inter Milan, Sniejder cemented himself as one of the best playmakers in world football, leading Jose’s Inter Milan to the treble in 2011/2012. However, even if Chelsea fail to sign him, others may also be interested and there would be no greater challenge for this star than to finish his career in The Premier League. Robert Lewandowski – Borussia Dortmund Rumours of goal hungry Lewandowski leaving Borussia Dortmund for one of the top European teams have been ongoing for at least a couple of years. The likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal have inevitably been linked to the Pole. Having helped Dortmund to the Champions League final in 2012/2013, and to the 2011/2012 Bundesliga title, Lewandowski has made a very big name for himself. Many assume that Lewandowski will go to Bayern Munchen but, until a contract is signed, his options remain open. If there is an injury or suspension to Olivier Giroud Arsenal could be in big trouble up top. If they are serious about contending for the title, then they could do a lot worse than to attempt to snare the Polish ace.
