5 years ago today at this exact moment, my mother and I were attacked in our home. It was traumatizing and has scarred us for life. However, something good did come out of that night. Today also marks this organizations 5th birthday. For 5 years, we have brought together many survivors and members and have given them an opportunity to talk about their attacks, their trials, their feelings and their accomplishments from moving forward. It makes me happy that we have been able to bring all of you together so you know that YOU are not alone. WE are not alone. Most importantly, we are NOT VICTIMS, we are SURVIVORS. I would also like to thank The Mission PD for their quick response time to our home invasion. You saved our lives and we are forever grateful. Also, a big thank you to our DA, the jurors, and our judge for successfully putting our attackers away for a long time.
