#5005 female California I feel so bad when people comment on others english. Educated= RIP English re ! I know a Chinese guy in my class who can barely speak English because of his accent and also the fact that he is an international student. But he recently got a scholarship of 50 thousand dollars because he topped the entire university in his first year. My moms cardiologist is a Filipino guy. We have to strain our ears to understand what he is saying because he has broken english and a heavy accent. But he is one of the most brilliant doctors and people have to wait more than 6 months just to visit him. I also studied at a reputable school in Nepal and would consider anyone with bad english as not educated. Now I meet hundreds of students from all backgrounds and cultures whose first language is not English. No one makes fun of them. We can see that they are trying hard to speak, and we also try our best to listen and understand. Aru ko English ma billa udaune bhaneko maile Nepali haru maatra dekhya chu. You can still be educated and qualified without good english. English doesnt make you a good person, respecting others makes you a good person.
