52 Weeks of Stewardship - Sept. 15, 2013 Not Your Average Shopping Day by Nancy Behrens Deuteronomy Chapter 8 Verse 10 “When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.” Preparing for this devotional this verse popped right out at me. I remember a time when the news was so discouraging on all fronts, much as it is now, and walking into Wegman’s to do weekly shopping. The beauty and abundance of all the produce and breads and deli items overwhelmed me and I teared up. I really noticed EVERYTHING and felt so fortunate to be living in this country, able to move freely, able to afford food and material needs. And I know it is only by God’s grace that I’ve been placed here in these times with these blessings to share what I have been given to the best of my ability, How can I not! Even when difficult times came to our family, as they do to all families, we had more than enough because God kept on giving on the darkest day. We can never repay Him but we can always offer “a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that confess His name.” Hebrews 13:15 Heavenly Father, Open my eyes and ears for ways I can share the blessings of treasure and time in grateful praise to you, In Jesus name, Amen
