5th day of the Feast; trumpets Leviticus 23:23-25 The beginning of the seventh month(civil new year) expressed joy and thanksgiving to God.And The Lord spake unto Moses, saying speak unto the children of Israel saying; in the seventh month,in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath,a memorial of blowing of trumpets,an Holy convocation.Ye shall do no servile work there in:but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto The Lord. Most of the trumpets used were rams horns ,although some of the more special trumpets were made of beaten silver.Trumpets were blown to announce the beginning of each month as well as the start of the feasts. The feast of the trumpets demonstrated 3 important principles that we should followed in our worship today:number(1)people gathered together to celebrate and worship.there is something special about worshiping with other believers.(2) the normal daily routine was suspended, and no hard work was done. It takes time to worship, and setting aside the time allows us to prepare our hearts before n reflect afterwards.(3)the people sacrificed animals as burnt offering to God. We show our commitment to God when we give something of value to him, God desires whole hearted worship. The best gift, of course, is ourselves. The Feast of trumpets was one of 3 great holidays celebrated in the seventh month( the feast of tabernacles and day of atonement were the other 2).these holidays provided a time to refresh the mind and body and to renew ones commitment to God.if u feel tired or far from God,separate yourself from ur daily routine and concentrate on renewing your commitment to God..
