WHOSE TO BLAME? Ugandas youth unemployment rate increased from 1.90 to 4.20 percent inbetween 2003 and 2010 and is still expected to increase. Uganda has the worlds largest percentage of young people under 30 - 78% according to the 2012 State of Uganda population report by the UN Population Fund. Thousands of youth graduates are realised from both public and private tertiary institutions each year but many have continously been burgened by the unemployment virus even after 2 to 5 years after graduating with reputable degrees. Many youth eventually resorting to risky ventures like betting for the males and escort business for the females. Whats the main cause behind this unemployment saga and whose to blame; Is it the education system, the youth or the government of Uganda. Are there really any solutions to this problem?
