6/22/13 16:15 From Hinsdale Sheriff Office Papoose Fire- Hinsdale/Mineral County The Papoose Fire has continued to grow and there are new Forest Service road closures to public access as well as new evacuations that are currently underway (see below) There are currently no major structure losses or injuries. Firefighter and citizen safety is our number one priority. Today the Forest Service supported the fire using a Sky Crane Helicopter for aerial drops. New evacuations currently underway: Ptarmigan Meadows RC Ranch Bristol View Acres Bristol View Acres West Lisonbee Ranch Completed Evacuations: All areas on FS Rd 520 (Rio Grande Rd) Fern Creek Rd Ox Bow Ranch New road closures: FS 513 Rito Hondo/ Continental Reservoir FS 509 Santa Maria and Seepage Road FS 515 South Clear Creek Rd FS 522 Fern Creek Rd FS 532 Bristol Head North Clear Creek Rd FS 523 Love Lake Rd FS 528 Spar City Rd Closures: Hwy 149 Creed to South Fork Hwy 160 South Fork to Wolf Creek Pass FS 520 (Rio Grande Rd) Papoose Fire Update Saturday, June 22, 2013 3:35 PM Mandatory evacuations of RC Ranch, Bristol Head, Bristol View West, Ptarmigan Meadows, and Frances Deture. Fire is causing erratic wind patterns. In containment at this time. 12 Law Enforcement Officers are assisting with the evacuations.
