6/25/2014 7:20 AM - Edited Best will always be the better of good. In other words Country stations, how can something so good end up so very wrong? When Hark Williams III spoke out yesterday against Country Music Sucks; was an indictment brought about by the present. In other words, the great legacy of the past which had quality throughout; has been diluted tremendously. That has brought about an indictment about their history as much as anything. Mind you, CW music was never confused of being stocked with choir boys and girls; but they represented more of the gentle farm critters than the present hog slop. Last night Clayton Kershaw of the LA Dodgers pitched another masterpiece. One week removed from throwing a no-hitter (almost perfect game except for an error by the SS), he was into the 9th inning throwing a shutout when I left. The importance of that is because of the secondary Country Must Be Country Strong, which is a broad brush to use. In Claytons case, he is a panhandle Oklahoma boy. Down home and clean cut, he is considered a good ol boy. He minds his manners, excels at his craft, is nice to all, a fun loving guy, loves his girlfriend; and even plays an instrument. In his spare time. I don’t know if he is a relative of Sammy Kershaw, but both Kershaws impressed in their performance day in and day out. Last I heard Sammy had some health problems, and I hope all is well with him and his family today. But he had a good run in the 1980s and 90s. What I am getting at grunts and groans is that quality of country is not just seen in the music they play. It is in the lifestyle they portray. You don’t have to be a farmer or rancher to be country. You dont have to bang on the drums, strum the banjo or guitar either. Hell, you don’t even need to have a good voice when singing. However, it is much appreciated if you can converse intelligibly. (Strike One) You just have to be a good ol boy and girl. That is where you lost it, from the beginning. You stopped being good, could give a crap, and let it play out further along the ride. (Strike Two) In last nights post about betrayal I spoke about the marriage relationship and the reparations required in healing this major breach of trust. You lost that one as well. When you stop caring about betrayal, few will EVER want to be considered part of anything substantive other than a yeehaw one evening or weekend. (Strike Three) There are three areas right there, you can start working on. Because your country and our country are on two different planes. In essence crapcakes, when the terms and conditions of the contract have been violated, there are usually sufficient grounds for dismissal of the contract. Even a court of law can rule either way. When that contract is so special, and the conditions within so sacrasanct; then the new contract usually will state something different from the initial one. In other words, stricter guidelines and terms will probably arise because of the breach of one over the other. Now as far as your insinuations of me being badly in debt and credit unworthy; once again is more of an indictment of your accusatory role than of honor. • First I am only $6,000 in debt and could pay it off with a phone call, leaving me with no debt. • Secondly, my house is an appreciating asset. In other words it is now worth more than I paid for it, and also what I owe on it. • Third, my credit scores are still around 740-750, from a high of 810 six years ago. That probably has more to do with lack of employment versus lack of paycheck. Moving to Florida probably dropped it 10% as well. As with most things regarding credit, employment is only a small consideration. Remaining debt free is imperative if you want to keep a healthy score. As I pay down the debt, my score will reflect that as well. If I paid off the debt today with that phone call, it would not improve my score. However, as long as I stay in Florida; that might not help either. (Something about the states reputability factor.) In other words healthy, reliable and sustainable payments will do more good for my credit score without incurring additional debt. There you have your lesson for the day. I can assure you this was all new to you, because cerebral is NOT thy name. Next batter. -------- Its all good, so you say Mike. Its all good, except for Jesus; right Pastor James? You are a fraud of the cloth sir. Since He is not here, I will say it for the both of us, You make me sick. In other words Pastor, walk your talk or take a hike.
