6 December 2014. “For if you FORGIVE other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also FORGIVE you. But if you do not FORGIVE others their sins, your Father will not FORGIVE your sins.” Matthew 6:14-15, NIV. • Thank You Father God for teaching me how to preach the message UNFORGIVENESS for Your honor, glory and praise. Encouragements • FORGIVE to be HAPPY or UNFORGIVE to be UNHAPPY. • My friend, I pray that, after studying this message, you can FORGIVE those that have hurt you deeply and profoundly and that you will be HEALED by the mercy and grace of God. You can then have peace, joy and hope in your life. And whenever the devil bombards you with the lies of UNFORGIVENESS, you can use the spiritual medicine preached in this message to HEAL over the enemy’s deadly poison of UNFORGIVENESS. Causes of UNFORGIVENESS • UNFORGIVENESS is mainly caused by anger, bitterness, depression and other negative emotions as a result of problems, difficulties and challenges in life. • The underlying causes of UNFORGIVENESS may be classified into two broad categories which are: (1) EVIL TONGUE and (2) EVIL DEEDS. EVIL TONGUE: Harsh, hurtful, insensitive and unkind words from the evil tongue (e.g., verbal abuse) may hurt a person so deeply that the victim does not know how to FORGIVE the offender, especially when the offender is close to or intimate with the victim (e.g., relationships, marriages). EVIL DEEDS: Immoral, criminal, unjust and unkind actions and behaviors (e.g., crime, physical abuse, emotional abuse, financial abuse, childhood abuse, discrimination, rejection, betrayal, and bullying) and unplanned circumstances (e.g., accidents) may hurt a person so deeply and profoundly that the victim finds it difficult to FORGIVE the abuser/perpetrator, especially when the abuser/perpetrator is close to or intimate with the victim. Devastating consequences of UNFORGIVENESS Described below are several examples of how UNFORGIVENESS can have a devastating effect in your life. • UNFORGIVENESS IS A DEADLY POISON that curses you with dark bondages (e.g., demonic spirits of anger, bitterness, depression and suicide). “See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” Hebrews 12:15, NIV. • UNFORGIVENESS hurts you emotionally and physically. • UNFORGIVENESS has devastating effects on many areas of your life, ranging from health problems (e.g., cancer) to relationship problems and to career problems. • UNFORGIVENESS is stronger when the offender/perpetrator is close to or intimate with the victim (e.g., husband and wife). • UNFORGIVE and God will also UNFORGIVE you. “But if you DO NOT FORGIVE others their sins, your Father WILL NOT FORGIVE your sins.” Matthew 6:15, NIV. • UNFORGIVENESS shows that you don’t really love God for it is against His commandments. “Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40, NIV. • UNFORGIVENESS alienates you from God and makes it more difficult for you to experience Him and understand His perfect plans for you. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2, NIV. • UNFORGIVENESS may result in unanswered prayers from God: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, FORGIVE them, so that your Father in heaven may FORGIVE you your sins.” Mark 11:24-25, NIV. • UNFORGIVENESS makes the devil happy. “Anyone you FORGIVE, I also FORGIVE. And what I have FORGIVEN—if there was anything to FORGIVE—I have FORGIVEN in the sight of Christ for your sake, in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.” 2 Corinthians 2:10-11, NIV. • UNFORGIVENESS blocks you from entering heaven for it is against God’s will. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21, NIV. “We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.” 1 John 3:14, NIV. • UNFORGIVENESS robs you off God’s abundant blessings for it disobeys God’s commandment. “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5, NIV. “If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.” John 15:10, NIV. “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:12, NIV. • UNFORGIVENESS may place curses on your health and finance for it disobeys God’s Word. “Cursed is anyone who does not uphold the words of this law by carrying them out.” Then all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’” Deuteronomy 27:26, NIV. “The LORD will afflict you with madness, blindness and confusion of mind.” Deuteronomy 28:28, NIV. “You will sow much seed in the field but you will harvest little, because locusts will devour it.” Deuteronomy 28:38, NIV. Healing over UNFORGIVENESS Described below are several useful methods that can be used to heal over your UNFORGIVENESS. 1. Pray and read God’s Word to heal over UNFORGIVENESS Pray to God and study the scriptures below for His miraculous healing over your UNFORGIVENESS. • “Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you HEALED me.” Psalm 30:2, NIV. • “The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and RESTORES them from their bed of illness.” Psalm 41:3, NIV. • “He HEALS the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3, NIV. • “But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are HEALED.” Isaiah 53:5, NIV. • “Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be HEALED.” Matthew 8:8, NIV. • “When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and HEALED all the sick.” Matthew 8:16, NIV. • “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and HEALING every disease and sickness.” Matthew 9:35, NIV. • “Daughter, your faith has HEALED you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” Mark 5:34, NIV. • “Dont be afraid; just believe, and she will be HEALED.” Luke 8:50, NIV. 2. A church counselor to heal over UNFORGIVENESS See a church counselor for assistance to heal over your UNFORGIVENESS. Your church counselor will open the prayer for you. With the counselor beside you in a room, imagine the offender that has hurt you so deeply is in sitting in front of you. Frankly tell the offender about how he/she has hurt you so deeply that you don’t know how to forgive him/her. You can address the offender with his/her name if you wish. Tell the offender the hurt, pain and suffering that he/she has profoundly caused upon you. Tell the offender how much anger and resentment you have had toward him/her. Let all your emotions out which include: crying to let the hurt and pain out of your mind and screaming to let the anger and resentment of the offender out of your mind. Your church counselor will close the prayer for you. You should feel better and relieved at the end of the counselling session. Repeat the counselling session as many times as necessary. 3. “Write” to those that have hurt you to heal over UNFORGIVENESS Open the prayer to ask God to help you heal over your UNFORGIVENESS. Instead of TALKING to the offender that has hurt you so deeply and profoundly (as described above), you can also put those words in WRITING. Frankly write about how the offender has hurt you so deeply that you don’t know how to forgive him/her. You can address the offender with his/her name if you wish. Write about the hurt, pain and suffering that the offender has profoundly caused upon you. Write about how much anger and resentment you have had toward him/her. Let all your emotions out which include: crying to let the hurt and pain out of your mind and screaming to let the anger and resentment of the offender out of your mind. Close the prayer to thank God for helping you with healing over your UNFORGIVENESS. You should feel better and relieved at the end of the writing session. Repeat the writing session as many times as necessary. 4. Call Jesus’ name to heal over UNFORGIVENESS If the enemy (Satan and his demonic spirits) still attacks you with the lie of UNFORGIVENESS, CALL JESUS’ name (which is God’s sword) and the enemy will immediately flee away from you for there is power and authority in the name of JESUS. Examples of CALLING JESUS’ name to defeat Satan are given below. “JESUS.”, “JESUS.”, “JESUS.”, “PEACE JESUS.”, “TAKE MY ANGER AWAY JESUS.”, “TAKE MY RESENTMENT AWAY JESUS.”, “TAKE MY DEPRESSION AWAY JESUS.”, “FORGIVE HIM JESUS.”, “FORGIVE HER JESUS.”, “FORGIVE THEM JESUS.”, “HELP ME JESUS.”, “COME JESUS.”, “MERCY ON ME JESUS.”, “GRACE ON ME JESUS.”, “HEAL ME JESUS.”, “RESCUE ME JESUS.”, “RESTORE ME JESUS.”. [Use other examples to suit your need as long as the name JESUS is included.] Let me pray for you Beloved, Jesus knows and understands your pain and suffering. Jesus loves you. Jesus has never forgotten you for you are His precious child. Jesus desires you to come before Him now so that He can help you heal over your unforgiveness. Jesus desires you to surrender all of your hurt, pain and suffering to Him now so that you can completely be healed and be set free from the dark bondages of unforgiveness. Give it all to Him. Don’t hold anything back from Him. No problem is too small or too big for Him. Jesus is now fighting the battle for you for this is His battle rather than yours to defeat the enemy: “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14, NIV. Trust Jesus with faith that He will defeat Satan and that you will be totally healed by His abundant mercy and grace: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV. Father God, please have mercy and grace on your child and heal him/her by taking away his/her hurt, pain and suffering caused by the evil spirits of bondage. Jesus, please also forgive your child for his/her unforgiveness of the offender that has hurt him/her so deeply and profoundly for he/she did not know how to forgive the offender. Lord, please help your child to forgive the offender that has hurt him/her so deeply and profoundly: “For if you FORGIVE other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also FORGIVE you. But if you do not FORGIVE others their sins, your Father will not FORGIVE your sins.” Matthew 6:14-15, NIV. By the power and authority of Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. FORGIVE TO BE HAPPY AND HEALTHY FOR YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT WILL BENEFIT MOST. Thank You Holy Spirit for Your presence and guidance in the preaching of this message.
