# 6: Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song) (2001) by Safri Duo. Can somebody shout: Burn tha dancefloor! This fully instrumental song with such joyful carnival vibes which initially reminded me of the musical Stomp Out Loud (1997) was such a sensation in the year 2001 and in December Played-A-Live was Played-A-Live in the dance clubs all over and over again. I remember my prom night, June 21, 2001, when this song was only released a few days before in Suriname, when I ran up to the DJ to request it, and he was like: Im so sorry, man, I dont have it. And so I went back to the dancefloor, very disappointed of course, just to find out a few minutes later that Played-A-Live was played ... at my prom! So, I looked at the DJ, and he was like: Got ya! Number 6 on my list of favorite radio songs of all time: Played-A-Live by Safri Duo. As well be entering my top 5 tomorrow, my list will only get personal and personal. Which 5 songs touched my soul the most? Stay tuned.
