6 months ago I discovered that if one makes a Spotify radio station out of Sailing by Christopher Cross it is a wonderfully horrifying and nostalgic romp through easy listening and soft rock from its heyday in the late 70s and early 80s. This is all music which I should hate based on all of my current interests but was always playing at my parents business (which naturally becomes a second home) so I have this odd love for it which makes no sense other than pure textbook conditioning. Anyways, after 6 months of playing this station more times than I care to admit, I can confirm that Sailing is, indeed, the perfect seed song from which to build a station. Its like pure, room temperature vanilla cupcakes purchased from the Vons service deli, topped with just a bit too much of that weird supermarket chocolate frosting. (Distant second goes to Reminiscing by Little River Band but that brought up too much smooth jazz and singer/songwriter hippie bullshit). Youre welcome, Facebook. This is what I do for you.
