6 wks. ago my apt. was broken into & my computer stolen, w/ another attempted break-in that evening. It was the second break-in into my apt. & second time computer stolen, both times w/in 7 mos. & I live in a predominantly black apt. complex, & other apts. were broken into, which means blacks as well as whites were victimized by crime--in this case, though, the suspect was caught, some young African American male who wrote on his FB pg. that his occupation was HUSTLIN IN DA HOOD. Well, now he gets to be HUSTLIN IN DA criminal justice system, gets to be HUSTLIN IN DA jail cell so very deservedly! Lot of talk about Michelle Alexanders book New Jim Crow, in which she alleges that blacks are disproportionately arrested for marijuana offenses--for which there is now an obvious way to correct, the example of Colorado, & perhaps also Washington, which is, legalize, regulate, tax, & hold re-sentencing hearings for all incarcerated for marijuana offenses. But saying that, I say also, **black males & females who engage in robbery, theft, assault, certainly rape & murder, i.e., clear felonies for which they are found guilty, deserve appropriate jail time!!!!!** & I really wish the white liberals & radicals so upset about racism would comment on black crime, crime prevention, & fair treatment & restitution for victims of crime, black crime as well as non-black crime. & remember, black crime is overwhelmingly black-on-black, 94% of the victims are black. So why arent more people upset about such victimization? Do they think victims of crime suffer no loss?
