#6380 This happenef with me today- I had boarded the city bus today with my office mate as our destination was similar. At the lachit nagar stoppage a group of 3 teens boarded the bus at Lachitnagar bus stand - 2 guys and I girl. She seemed to be a bit high (I felt so, it is an assumption) They were talking loudly , as if it were only they three travelling. While I was busy talking with my friend, suddenly I heard one of those guys shouting at the conductor about the fare. They were saying they had paid, while the former was of the opinion that they hadnt. Due to urgent commotions, the conductor (aged around 45 years) got a serious attack of cough, and he left them without speaking another word. The bus reached paltan bazaar and it almost became empty. These people sat in front of my seat and started talking in hushed voices in assamese. (I cant speak assamese well, but I do understand it) They were like, Today, they succeeded in making a fool of that Buddha conductor. Cigarette will be cheap today I was shocked, felt like is Rs. 15 too much to pay to a bus when you are travelling. I hadnt paid my fare too till that time, and my destination (vishal) was there, while my office mate had already got down at paltan. I called the conductor, and gave him a 50 rupee note, he was about to return the 45 rs, when i asked him to keep another 5 for my office mate, and 15 for those people and then return the change. They saw me, and stared at me like I had committed a crime while I got off the bus. I dont know if I did the right thing, but my conscience asked me to do it. 15 rs may not be a big thing for us, but for those poor people it means a lot. What do you get by keeping their share of income for your cigratte. Plus, dear teens, would you like if anyone talked to your dad in that tone. That conductor hadnt done anything wrong, he was doing his duty. #Respect People irrespective of their work.
