66 years of Independence still doesn’t make any big difference to the meaning of being Independent. Though I was born after Independence bt thanks 2 our movies wch platter de complete post nd pre Independence scenario nd those school books telling de stories uf our respected freedom fighters. bt wat iz a common indian feeling today? are you free 2 say nything against wrong or people doing wrong? are you free to express ur thoughts nd opinion? yes, u are free 2 slam de glasses of buses on roads, u are free to shutter down the shops, u are free to do Bandh nd you are free to do any violence in the name of religion, caste and state if and only if you represent a political party. If you don’t belong to a political party and still you dare to question a politician about all this violent drama then the answer you will receive is “we are representing local Indians” hey! did any local Indian citizen want to kill his neighbor? does any local Indian want to destroy public property? did any local Indian see other Indian state as a foreign land or any non-state person as a foreigner?all over a common Indian citizen is not Independent; i have grown up seeing how people bribe for every small and big thing, how poor is getting poorer and rich, richer. the true Independence is only for those who can buy every non-saleable thing with their money. what about those who live their life to fulfill some very basic need of their families? wat about those who are unhappy with being so un-independent? I seriously don’t have answers to my own questions. I am looking for a peaceful way to getting back that freedom which we people never had
