Im named for TV shows Family Affairs Buffy--not Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I worked for an Ohio newspaper BC--before cubicles. With several Carols, Carolyns and Karens, it was often confusing when the name was blasted. So, everyone was renamed. Mine because of blue jean cutoffs and the long pigtails. I disappointed a couple young gals with autograph books in hand at a Hollywood function honoring Dustin Hoffman in Beverly Hills (I was there for a conference). When the red carpet event was over, they asked if I wasnt going to go into the banquet room with the rest of the stars. They thought I was Buffy the Vampire Slayer. 2. I love to read--especially mysteries. Can devour a book in a day if people leave me alone. Often will have more than one book going at a time. Plus a few magazines. Cant imagine a world without a book. Love to feel them, smell them, dog ear the pages, highlight them. read the back cover, read the inside cover, skip to the back to see Ive figured it out. Yep, I read online but there is just not the same satisfaction. So afraid that many in the future will miss those experiences. 3 I have the best husband, friends, acquaintances, clients, cats and relatives in the whole world. 4. Ive been the most fortunate gal--always have had folks who looked out for me, who made sure I knew the right people, knew the right thing to say or do. Love those mentors. 5. Im the eldest of 6 kids. Need I say more. 6. Only discovered a few years ago (according to an OSU Alumni magazine article) that I was born and raised in Applachia. Didnt know it stretched up into Ohio. Recently, I read somewhere that I still live in Applachia in yorktown, IN. 7. I truly have never met a stranger. Love to talk to and meet people. Elevators are a wonderful challenge--even if you are only going one floor. For the most part, other folks love to know that people are interested in them and notice them. Thats all we all ever want. 8. BONUS HA! Im an OSU football fan.
