**730 PM CDT 8/1: Scattered Strong Thunderstorms Likely this Evening** Primary Counties Affected: Winnebago, Boone, McHenry, Lake IL, Ogle, Lee, De Kalb Widely scattered thunderstorms will continue across far northern Illinois and northwest Illinois into early this evening. Some of the thunderstorms will produce hail, generally pea to dime size, though very isolated storms could briefly become severe and produce hail up to the size of quarters in very isolated locations. If threatening weather approaches seek shelter indoors and listen for later statements and possible warnings. The storms are also slow moving and producing very heavy rainfall, so be alert for ponding and minor flooding on roadways.
