8 year old Aubrey is not happy at being left tied to a fence in the Bronx. She doesn’t understand what she could have done that was so bad. But despite sitting in a crate at Manhattan ACC, Aubrey is determined to make the best of a bad situation. She was a bit nervous during her first medical exam but by the second medical, she is described as a “friendly dog”. And even better, she’s in decent health with no significant health issues. When it came time to her behavioral eval, she the assessor used words like “sociable…calm…relaxed” to describe Aubrey. And she stayed calm during the dog on dog earning a 1 score on that part. But when that big plastic hand went into her food dish, she drew the line and bit it. For that, ACC has given her a New Hope Only rating meaning she can only be taken out by a rescue. And to make matters worse, ACC has put Aubrey on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. So tonight, this sweet older girl is looking for someone who understands that a mature Cocker like herself has to set limits about some things; someone who understands that an older girl like her probably wouldn’t want a young child who might fool around with her food dish, someone who also understands that at 8, Aubrey has many years of being a happy Cocker, playing and running and being part of a family once again. Are you that someone? If you can picture Aubrey frolicking in your living room, snoring away on her doggie bed, and giving doggie kisses, start applying to rescues to foster or adopt her. But do it right now, tomorrow, that little Cocker face called Aubrey will be gone forever!
