8 year olds these days have Facebook, Twitter, Phones and iPads. When I was their age, I had a coloring book, crayons and an imagination... .I grew up in Laurel, MS... ALL of my young grandkids have iPads and through the home network, each can play their on games or watch movies, cartoons on the iPads... They also have cell phones and several different types of game systems... I played in the dirt, went fishing, shot my BB gun, played in the ditches and culverts when it rained, played in the railroad trestle, caught red worms in cow manure and night crawlers and salamanders under the leaves and logs in the woods to fish with... or small crawfish in the branch to fish with... Sometimes I would come across a Black Runner Snake and it was as scared of me more than I was scared of it... I thought he was trying to catch me... be the snake would run past me and hide...
