80 people dead and scores of others injured, many critical......this is an extreme example of an all too common, distractive and dangerous thing that soooo many people do......certainly not on a high speed train, but countless numbers of car drivers use cell phones while in motion ALL THE TIME......if someone HAS to use those gadgets while in a vehicle, what is wrong with simply pulling over to make a call, or just waiting until the car has reached the destination?........I personally think it is ridiculous enough seeing every other person in public "glued" to that 5" box overusing the precious thumbs constantly (carpal tunnel here we come!), in stores, restaurants, churches, you name it........but the worst that can happen in those situations is a trip or a bump into something or someone.......however, going 50 miles an hour and using these things puts lives at risk......there is simply no excuse for cell/smart phone use while operating a moving vehicle.......period......and as unpopular as it may be, I favor a NATIONAL law prohibiting their use in a moving vehicle
