82ND STREET BETWEEN 37TH & ROOSEVELT AVENUE? I dont think so. This picture, found in the book, Jackson Heights: A Garden in the City, is cited as being 82nd between 37th & Roosevelt Avenues in 1919. While it is undeniable that the picture was taken from an elevated subway station (and you can see the stairs on the left leading up), it makes no sense to me, that those houses would be there, supposedly on the west side of 82nd Street (where there are none like that today, but just stores). Also, note how narrow the street is, compared to today. Also, those buildings where 37th Avenue is supposed to be doesnt match what is there. See Comments for more.
