8lb. 28 and 4lb. 23 from the Grand Ronde, Washington State - TopicsExpress

8lb. 28 and 4lb. 23 from the Grand Ronde, Washington State yesterday. Had another on and off in seconds, had a couple other tugs that beat me and caught a little resident rainbow. All of the fish were on one of Joe Petrellas flies that he tied and sent to me once he was released from the hospital after a liver transplant. Very special if you know what I mean, and, Im being wicked serious when I say that. Pate, my friends dog, is a fish kisser and makes me miss my Chocolate Lab so much. Bear in mind that where I was today, these Steelhead swam 550 miles from the Pacific ocean, through killer whales, sharks, seals, otters, birds of prey, Indian and white man nets, through dams on the Columbia river and still move an additional 200 miles upstream, mate and spawn, and then make their way back to the ocean. On the way down, they go through the dams, some are chewed up by turbines, back down through fisherman, nets, seals, birds and into the ocean to feed, regain their strength and hopefully avoid killer whales and sharks. Not as big as the ones Dai Jones will get on his trip to British Columbia, but they are tough anyway. And, thats why I love them.
