9:10 PM 10/23 | Good evening, Central MD! Hope you all enjoyed the much cooler temps today. If so, youre in luck! Due to the THIRD cold front in two weeks, we are going to continue to experience some much cooler, November-like, weather throughout the week. The National Weather Service currently has an FREEZE WATCH in effect for our area, meaning we could have some subfreezing temperatures that could kill sensitive vegetation. Remember to add 10 minutes onto your commute in the morning due to the frost that will be on your windshield! TONIGHT: Lows in the low 40s. Slight chance of a shower or two early, with partly cloudy skies later on. Winds shifting to W at 5-10 mph. THURSDAY: Highs in the mid 50s. Partly cloudy skies. Winds WNW at 10-15 mph, with gusts over 20 mph at times. THURSDAY NIGHT: Lows getting down to the mid 30s. Partly cloudy. Winds W at 5-10 mph. LOOKING AHEAD: Cooler temps are going to dominate our region all the way through the weekend into next week. Highs are going to hold fairly steady in the 50s as the air behind the cold front moves through our area. We should have pretty dry weather through the weekend and the beginning of next week, which may be great for fall festivities such as pumpkin picking, orchard visits, corn mazes, etc. (as long as you bring a jacket!). The main thing to watch out for are those freeze advisories at night; it might be safe to say that our growing season is just about done. Stay warm and have a great night! (Forecaster Emily)
