9/18/2014 - 10:00 PM - UPDATE Val had a good day today. Speech was working with him when I got there - feeding him thickened water and applesauce. They are working on scheduling the swallowing test (FEES) - camera down nose to throat to watch him swallow different things. Hope he passes his test. They think it will be next week. OT had come in early and put his Frankenstein brace on - he wore it for 4 hours. If you saw the picture (on my page) I posted of him standing you can see Frankenstein on his right arm. PT was good today. He worked his arms and legs (right and left). He stood 3 times for maybe a minute each time - its a start and the first time in 3 months. After all of this and sitting up for 2 hours, he was pooped. He got his food reconnected and went to sleep. They changed his food running from 70 an hour to 90 for 20 hours and this gives him a 4 hour window to get all of his therapies in without that interference. He did a really good job today. He is working hard and Im so proud of him!!! I went to the Womens Ministry Kick-Off at church (Galilee Christian) tonight and it was so good to be there - food for the soul. Mount Carmels Womens Ensemble sang some beautiful songs. All of the hugs sure made me feel good. Thank you Lord for your continued blessings that keep us moving forward and for all of the wonderful prayer warriors.
