TESTIMONY TIME !!! I just sat down here, at my desk, and looked over at my Daily Scripture Calender and this is the Scripture --- He maketh the STORM a CALM , so that the waves thereof are still . ---Psalm 107:29 ( emphasis mine ) Its 7:30 P,M. and around 4 oclock the STORM was NOT CALM or STILL.... I was driving home, around 4 oclock, when SUDDENLY the sunny sky gave way to clouds ...which clouds turned all shades of GREEN & BLACK which usually spells BIG TROUBLE here in Texas. Things went from bad to worse when the wind began to rage at about 90 MILES AN HOUR....as I arrived at our street there were HUGE AND LONG TREE BRANCHES, blocking the street, that had just been snapped off by the wind....circled around ...entered from other end of street...parked car in front of our Town Home. In the NOAHS FLOOD type of rain ( Common here in Texas ) and the 90 mile an hour wind I was almost BLOWN AWAY as I made my way to the front door of our home.....inside soaking wet....received a recorded phone message from the City saying ---WARNING SEVERE STORM...90 MILE AN HOUR WIND....SEEK COVER ....Soon the winds died down to 50 or so...then less...maybe 30....the FLOOD RAINS lessened a bit...so, I decided, being the 65 year Young He Man, that I am, to go out and MOVE these HUGE AND LONG TREE BRANCHES out of the entry way to our street. My wife was in STRONG DISAGREEMENT to that idea as I have a serious injury in my body that should keep me from any heavy lifting...but OFF I WENT INTO THE STORM to open the street.... ( later my wife said, Why didnt you simply call the CITY thats their job to open the street ?!? Oh....yeah...why didnt I think of that..just stupid I guess....Connie is NOT at all IMPULSIVE, like me, and is 99 and 44/100 % of the time, RIGHT, when it comes to a lot of things she thinks I should NOT do...but, after 35 years together, I till havent quite caught on to that. ) So the first thing I notice, when I get down the street to where the HUGE... ...LONG...tree branches are, is that, looking out a window of the corner home, that the branches were directly in front of, were 3 young men, about 30 or so, looking out the window at the mess outside and the wind and rain.... These TREE BRANCHES were WAY BIGGER AND WAY HEAVIER than they looked from a distance...So, as I grabbed the end of one and began to drag it away down the street, to the only clearing where it could be placed and be off the road, youre probably thinking these THREE YOUNG GUYS rushed out to HELP ME...right ? WRONG !!! They stood inside dry and safe and WATCHED..... Finally, as I was moving the second HUGE SECTION down to where I drug the first one, one of the YOUNG BUCKS comes outside...NOT to help me as I was struggling with this MONSTER tree thing....NO...He decided to try and move a MUCH SMALLER and LIGHTER section....He was GROANING so loud and struggling so hard...It was a pitiful sight to behold...Then...after moaning ....groaning...tugging and pulling he finally moved it...about 6 INCHES or so....He gave up and went back inside to the safety and dryness of his home. Meanwhile, by myself, with an injury that should have precluded me from this job, I drug the TWO LARGEST AND HEAVIEST sections of the tree down the street and off the road into a grass clearing..ALONE. That opened the street enough to make one lane to get through...I left the LIGHT WEIGHT STUFF for the THREE SISSIES that were watching me.... Later...as the WILD STORM was totally gone....sun coming back again....OUT COMES THE THREE MUSKETEERS to move the LIGHT WEIGHT STUFF.... From my window I watched the THREE OF THEM struggle with one LIGHTER WEIGHT piece than the ones I moved ALONE...Then they STRUGGLED,,,THREE OF THEM....with another SMALLER AND LIGHTER section....They drug it all down to where I had taken my loads....THEN INSTEAD OF GETTING IT OFF THE STREET, LIKE I DID, THESE THREE DUMMIES LEFT THEIR DEBRIS IN THE STREET...NOT OFF THE STREET NEXT TO MINE IN A CLEARING OFF THE ROAD....IN THE STREET WHERE IT ALREADY WAS !!! THEY JUST CHANGED ITS LOCATION ON THE STREET !!! I tell you, its NOT EASY living in a WORLD full of MORONS...They left..I went back out to do what I suppose the little sissies were too tired out to do.. About that time a Police Officer pulls up and gets out of his car and helped me with the remaining mess....Ive lived in this city for almost 30 years and have never had even ONE COMPLAINT about the Police Department. They are always SUPERB and do their job above and beyond the call of duty. Well, I said all that just to get to the point of saying --- THANK YOU JESUS !!! ---You brought us through ANOTHER TEXAS STORM with every hair in place...no broken windows....no torn up or off roof...no power outages...no fences blown down...ALL STOOD STRONG IN THE 90 MILE AN HOUR WIND ALONG WITH NOAHS FLOOD TIDES....only this FLOOD STORM lasted a lot less time than 40 DAYS & NIGHTS.... THANK YOU JESUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
