9:30 PM Winter Weather Update: We know many of you are upset over the forecast change this evening and Im upset as well (still, please keep the tomatoes put away). Even though we no longer expect a significant winter storm, there will still be a few problems tonight into Monday morning. Ive got a brief explanation of why the forecast changed so dramatically along with an update on what we have going on right now. See the blog for both at texasstormchasers/?p=23151. -DavidR * A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect through the morning hours on Monday for West Texas, West-Central Texas, the Hill Country, much of North and Northeast Texas along with western sections of Central Texas. Pecos, Midland, Odessa, Big Spring, Snyder, San Angelo, Abilene, Vernon, Wichita Falls, Graham, the D/FW Metroplex, Sherman, Paris, Tyler, Longview, Corsicana, Waco, Killeen (Fort Hood), Round Rock, Austin, and New Branfuels are a few cities included in the winter weather advisory. A winter weather advisory means that light ice and sleet accumulations are possible that could result in icing of bridges/overpasses. Some surface roads may also have icy spots in areas where temperatures can fall below/to 30 degrees.
