9 years back, I have had a lot about the good Paithani sarees being available at Yeola, about 25 km from Shirdi. On my way to Shirdi, my wife wanted to visit Yeola to purchase some sarees.Deep inside the Yeola we went to a shop which had no showroom and one has to climb on the stairase, go up till the first floor where heaps of sarees are displayed. We purchased 2-3 sarees . When we came down, on the way to where I had parked the vehicle, I crossed a beautiful building with old wooden carvings which was looking different from others. The gentleman was standing on the road below the building who informed me that that is a Jain derasar and it is more than 450 years old and is made up completely of wood with exclusive carvings. He volunteered to show us and take us to visit inside. On visiting inside, we realised that the building has got a ground floor and a first floor. There were many exotic carvings and tiles inside which we were informed were more than 450 years old. They were still shining. On the first floor, the idol of Ajithnath tirthankara swami is there which is the presiding tirthankar of the place. There was no priest there. We were allowed to go near the idol and pray. The first floor has got fabulous glass chandeliers and cut glass decorations and wooden carvings. The gentleman showed us and explained to us everything about the derasar and he informed us that Ajitnath swami was on the first floor and Manivrath swami on the ground floor . The presiding tirthankars are very kind and they fulfil the sincere desires of the devotees. Many persons who have asked for wealth, they had blessed them with wealth and made them wealthy. Our guide gave few names of the persons who have benefitted. When we came down to leave for Shirdi, he requested us to have a cup of tea in his house. We could not refuse as I believe in Baba who says " If anybody offers you anything with love, please accept it". Myself and my wife followed him to his house. His house was only one room of 10 x 12 feet on the ground floor of a structure in front of the derasar. This room was bedroom, kitchen, washroom, all in one. The room was sparsely furnished. He had only one chair so I sat down on the bed which they use for sleeping and we consumed the tea with some farsan made by his wife, which they offered us with a clean heart and happiness. On our way back to my car, I offered him some money, as he had spent much time with us and acted as a guide, to which he politely refused and informed us that he works in a showroom and goes in the evening for work. He was always having a smiling face. Subsequently I visited Yeola and met him. He was as happy as ever. His condition had not improved, but he had no trace of unhappiness or tension. With his guidance , hundreds of people have got wealth with the blessings of the tirthankaras of Ajitnath swami . So why then did he did not wish for or get it ? He was contented with what God has given him and what God was giving him daily. He did not want to wish for anything and become unhappy. He was contented with the meagre possessions he had. Happiness of the mind lies in contentment. Peace of mind also lies in contentment. A contented man is a liberated man. Today when I was meditating , this incident sparked in my mind and the scenes became vivid. He gave me the thought I should share my experience with others, with which his directions, I am putting this on my blog.
