96 elephants are killed every day in Africa, as demand for ivory - TopicsExpress

96 elephants are killed every day in Africa, as demand for ivory skyrockets. (The U.S. has the 2nd largest market for ivory in the world.) But together we can stop the killing, stop the trafficking, and stop the demand. We support the 96 Elephants Campaign, joining forces with the Wildlife Conservation Society and more than 100 other accredited zoos and aquariums across the country. Tonight we support their call in asking the popular PBS series, Antiques Roadshow, to stop giving ivory airtime. We already know that the real cost of ivory is dead elephants. The Chicago Zoological Society and Brookfield Zoo encourage you to ask the show to stop appraising ivory to help secure a spot for these gentle giants in our future. Go to 96Elephants.org to sign the pledge or go to CZS.org/96Elephants to learn more. #AntiquesRoadshow #96Elephants
