99.7 Classic Rock would like to thank all who have ever worn the uniform of the United States Military. Thank you for your service! Here is a listing of things taking place around our Valley. Rose put together this list of events for us to share. ~ April Skye Fresno Veterans Day Parade The Fresno Veterans Day Parade honors our veterans from all branches. The celebration will begin at 10:00 a.m. and parade begins at 11:11 a.m. in front of Fresno City Hall in downtown Fresno. Free Burger & Fries at Red Robin In honor of Veterans Day, Red Robin is inviting all veterans and active-duty service members to enjoy a free Reds Tavern Double burger with Bottomless Steak Fries® on Tuesday, November 11, at participating restaurants nationwide. Free Car Wash Free car wash for veterans on Veterans Day at the Great American Car Wash, located at 3854 N. Blackstone Ave. in Fresno. Free Lunch at Texas Roadhouse Fresnos Texas Roadhouse invites veterans and active members of U.S. military to enjoy FREE lunch on Tuesday, November 11, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All veterans, including all active, retired or former U.S. military, can choose one of 10 entrees, including a 6-ounce sirloin and two made-from-scratch sides plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea/ice tea or coffee during lunch. Proof of service includes military or VA card, or discharge papers. Free Admission to National Parks The National Parks Service is honoring the brave men and women who have served our country by offering free admission to our national parks on Tuesday. The free offer includes: Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Park. Free Lunch at HomeTown Buffet HomeTown Buffet on West Shaw in Fresno will give a free lunch with drink to all active, reservist and retired military personnel. Must have a valid military ID. Veterans Day Ceremony at Fresno City College The annual Veterans Day Ceremony will be held in front of the Veterans Peace Memorial. This year the ceremony will give special recognition to Hmong veterans. The Veterans Day Ceremony is traditionally held the Friday prior to Veterans Day since students are on campus and can attend the event. All veterans and community members are welcome to attend this very moving and traditional salute to Veterans. Free Grand Slam at Dennys Stop by any Dennys on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 and all active, non-active, and retired military personnel can get a free build your own Grand Slam from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Bring a valid military ID along with you. Dine-in only. Hanford Veterans Day Festival The 3rd Annual Hanford Veterans Day Festival Honoring Korean War Veterans takes place 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11th at the Kings Fairground. Veterans Stand Down 8-10am. Breakfast and lunch for veterans, free hair cuts, car and motorcycle show, drill team competitions, prizes, bounce houses, face painting, petting zoo, pony rides, vendors, live music and more. Free parking and admission. Presidential Aircraft on Display at Castle Air Museum On Saturday, November 1st the Castle Air Museum in Atwater undertook the move of the museums Douglas VD-9 presidential aircraft to the museum grounds from the airport flightline. The move took approximately 11 hours to complete the mile plus distance! The aircraft is a beautiful sight displayed near another iconic aircraft, the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird near the museums main entrance. The aircraft is now on display near the parking lot and a grand dedication is set for Tuesday, November 11th. Gates will open at 9 am on this morning for this special museum event. The dedication will be at 10 am with tours of the aircraft from 10 am to 3 pm. Tours are $10 per person for the presidential aircraft. 10th Annual Veterans Day Hubbard Baro Golf Tournament The 10th Annual Hubbard Baro Golf Tournament will honor the Valleys military killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. The tournament will begins at 10:45 am at Fort Washington Country Club with a 21 gun salute, and formal military ceremony honoring brothers Nathan Hubbard, Jared Hubbard, and Jareds best friend, Jeremiah Baro, all alumni of Buchanan High School, Killed in Action in Iraq. Members of the Hubbard and Baro families will be in attendance. Jared and Jeremiah died on November 4th, 2004; Nathan Hubbard was killed in August of 2007. CLICK HERE 2nd Annual Lemoore Veterans Day Parade The American Legion Post 100 and the Lemoore Recreation Department will be hosting the second annual Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, November 11th at 6pm in downtown Lemoore. The Parade will begin on Follett and D Street and continue down D Street to Hill Street. Our main street will be beautifully lit in order to see the entries and pay tribute to those who served. Porterville Veterans Day Parade The historic parade is scheduled to roll down Main Street at 10:00 a.m. The parade route will begin at the corner of Morton Avenue and Main Street, and end at Main Street and Walnut Avenue. At 11:00 a.m. a moment of silence will be observed. Special category for antique farm equipment. Trophies for first and second place. Parade lineup at 7:30 a.m. / Judging at 8:00 a.m.
