A 3rd person has died following a three car crash on Old Augusta Road South Sunday afternoon. Theresa Karlie Miles, 19, of Springfield, was pronounced dead this evening at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. Shortly before 4 p.m, Effingham County Sheriffs Deputies responded to Old Augusta Road South near Georgia Pacific on a report of a crash with injuries. Initial reports indicate that two people in a van traveling north on Old Augusta Road were killed after a pickup truck traveling south crossed into their path, Sheriff s spokesman David Ehsanipoor said. Megan Kessler, 30, of Rincon, and her mother, Marlys Stempke, of Allenhurst, were both pronounced dead on the scene. . Ivey Castaneda, 15, of Effingham County remains at Memorial with serious injuries. Castaneda is a student at Effingham County High School. The crash remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT).
