A 42-year-old Bexhill man will appear in Lismore Court after suffocating a dog. Using a garbage bag, the man allegedly suffocated a one-year-old whippet Staffordshire terrier cross at a property in Bexhill last Thursday (22 January 2015), before dumping the dog’s body in nearby bushland. The body of the animal, which belonged to the man’s partner’s daughter, was discovered by bushwalkers and taken to the local pound before police were notified of the matter over the weekend. Yesterday (Monday 26 January 2014), the 42-year-old Bexhill man attended Lismore Police Station, where he was charged with commit an act of aggravated cruelty upon an animal. Granted conditional bail, he is scheduled to appear in Lismore Local Court on 9 March 2015.
