A 9 yr old whos very shy, but eager to learn, decides to study drums. We begin with sticking technique, and a simple 4 count drum beat on the kit. The following lesson we ease into Green Onions by Booker T, with me on bass & him on drums. During the jam, I explain the 12 bar blues arrangement to him. Two lessons later we play Led Zeppelins Moby Dick and he is beaming with extreme joy. There are many reasons why I teach music, but this is absolutely number one.
