A CHILD OF GOD’S JOY KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES! – “You imitated us and the Lord. In spite of a lot of suffering, you welcomed God’s word with the kind of joy that the Holy Spirit gives. This way, you became a model for all the believers in the province of Macedonia and Greece.” 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7 (GW) My friend, as we go about our daily life, we often fail to consider that much of our happiness in life will depend on how we believe God views us. Sadly though, many of us have adopted a wrongheaded idea of how God views us! Yes, so often negative opinions of ourselves and our less than joyous relationship with God can be attributed to damaging experiences we’ve encountered in life or to erroneous interpretations of God’s Word weve been taught (among friends, in church or even in our homes). Possibly, some of us may even believe God is “disappointed” or even “angry” with us, because try as we might – we just can’t seem to stop our sinfulness! “CLEARLY I CANNOT OR NEVER WILL MEASURE UP TO THE STANDARD SET FOR CHRISTIAN CONDUCT. SO, HOW CAN GOD CONTINUE TO BELIEVE IN ME? HOW CAN HE CONTINUE TO LOVE ME?” - The ANSWER to your question my friend is clearly and most humbly expressed through the following biblical verses: “But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12 (NLT); I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:17-18, (NIV); How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 John 3:1, NIV); “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
