A CHRISTMAS CAROL Director: Martin Berry Producers/Company: Lakeside Arts Centre Location/Venue: Lakeside Arts Centre, Nottingham Casting Dates: 8th October at Lakeside Arts Centre Overall Dates: 4 November Performances: 6 December – 29 December Remuneration: Fee: £400 per week (8 weeks) plus subsistence where appropriate CASTING REQUIREMENTS Looking to recruit a company of three actors for this brand new adaptation for a family audience aged 4 and over. All actors must have a good vocal and physical training. They must have a very good musical ear and be experienced in ensemble and multi-character work. Strength with accents, singing, movement and an ability to play an instrument are all an advantage. ANDREW (M) P/age 21 – 40. As he plays the Scrooge character within the story must be able to ‘embody winter’ and have an ability to play both wry comedy and sharp tongued irritation. JAMES (M) P/age 21 – 40. A physically adept character who is comfortable multi roling and clowning. He plays many roles including ghosts, children and the entire Cratchit family. VICKY (F) P/age 21 – 40. A middle sibling with a sense of leadership and self assuredness but who can still make us laugh and warm to her. Plays many roles including ghosts, a genie, Jacob Marley and a parrot.
