A CYCLONE WARNING CLASS II IS IN FORCE IN MAURITIUS. Third cyclone bulletin for Mauritius issued at 0415 hours on Monday 12 January 2015. Latest satellite images show that severe tropical storm BANSI has intensified into a Tropical Cyclone. At 0400 hours this morning, BANSI was centred in latitude 17.4 degrees south and longitude 55.1 degrees east, that is at about 400 kilometres to the north west of Mauritius. Tropical cyclone BANSI maintains a south south easterly direction at about 09 km/h. On this trajectory, the centre of BANSI continues to approach Mauritius. Given that BANSI is still evolving in an environment favourable for further intensification, the possibility of having cyclonic winds over Mauritius has increased.
