A Christmas Poem~ 2014 Blessed Dissent, If not for thee, Men would not know Liberty, Though history replete with tales of woe, Of burnings, hangings in open show To silence thee and sew thy lips With chains and tongs and pincers, whips Yet louder cries from Freedoms Maw None can supplant True Natures Law For every shriek, a louder toll Doth thunder from Libertys Bell Proclaiming wide across the land Freedoms Song to every man And every woman, boy and girl Gods-in-bud, a hidden pearl Waxing bright by trial and grit Tough resolve puts an end to it Tyranny bent to Heavens will By noble people of master skill Outwitting devils, popes and kings And marching on to brighter things So here we stand, this day and age And still that beast doth froth and rage Yet Zions King, a little child Subdues the beast and makes him mild Converting despots into kin His blood eraseth all their sin Their childlike innocence newly attained Forgiveness sure, and mercy gained ~David Andrew Bryson
